Vice-Chancellor Message

THE University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore started functioning from 1st October 1965. 'The Mysore Journal of Agricultural Sciences' (MJAS), a quarterly Journal was launched during 1967 to provide a medium for Teachers, Researchers and Students of the farm Universities for publishing their research findings in the form of Research Papers and Research Notes. The first issue of the MJAS was released by Dr. B. P. Pal, the then Director-General of ICAR, New Delhi on 17th April, 1967. The MJAS in addition to Research Articles publishes the abstracts of Master's and Doctoral Degree Theses. The “Current Research” a monthly journal was exclusively introduced during 1976 to publish Research Notes. Consequent to the merging of Current Research, the MJAS has become a comprehensive Journal in 2004. The MJAS has entered to 50th year in 2016. In order to commemorate the Golden Jubilee year of MJAS and to fall in line with the advanced ICT, the University launched an on-line publication of MJAS on 1st October 2016 during the Foundation Day of the University. I solicit the co-operation of students, teachers and researchers to make use of the on-line facility of MJAS initiated by the University. The NAAS rating of MJAS is 4.64 with effect from January, 2021. I wish the research papers contributing fraternity and the team of persons involved in the publication process a great success in the endeavor.
Dr. S.V. Suresha
Vice-Chancellor
