The University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru was started functioning from October 1, 1965. In the year 1967, a quarterly research journal entitled “The Mysore Journal of Agricultural Sciences (MJAS)” was launched to provide a medium for faculties and scientists, extension functionaries of the university for publishing their research findings in the form of research papers and research notes. The first issue of the MJAS was released by Dr. B. P. Pal, the then Director General of ICAR, New Delhi on April 17, 1967. The MJAS in addition to research papers publishes the abstracts of Masters and Doctoral Degree Theses. The “Current Research” a monthly journal was exclusively introduced from 1976 to publish Research notes. Consequent to merging of the function of Current Research, the MJAS has become a comprehensive Journal in 2004. The MJAS has entered to 50th year in 2016. In order to commemorate the Golden Jubilee year of MJAS and to fall in line with the advanced ICT, the University launched on-line publication of MJAS on October 1, 2016, the UAS, Bengaluru Foundation Day. However, in the beginning, the existing off-line procedure will also be continued for submission concurrently with the on-line submission. I solicit the co-operation of students, teachers and researchers to make use of this on-line facility of MJAS initiated by the University. I wish the research paper contributing fraternity and the team of persons involved in publication process a great success in the endeavour.
